Train them early ladies....

If only men always loved to clean this much. My boys can't get enough of my new electic broom my aunt got me for my birthday. They are so funny, I have to give them turns they want to do it so much...if that only lasted right? :)

Karate Kid

I would like to sit here and write that our kid, the teachers kid, did amazing at the karate test, that he didn't break down and cry for the first 5 minutes, but alas I would be lying. Poor Ethan, it was totally my fault but wires got crossed, he got disappointed and the tears flowed. However the saving grace of the night was that he didn't give, he came back in after a few minutes, did the rest of the test and did great. He was loud, tough and strong not to mention really cute. It figures though, the teachers kid is the one upset, doesn't always work that way, man parenthood is humbling. I love my little man though so much and I am proud of him for not quiting. Way to go Ethan!

I want my GINNY!!!

All I can say is Ethan LOVES his grandma so much so that trying to get him to stay the night at "his" house has been quite a challenge lately. He LOVES being at his Ginny's house. Ginny and Grandpa are his favorite people on earth I think. I think them moving out has been the hardest on Ethan, even though they are only a mile away. He wants to go over to their house when ever he can and spending the night is something he always wants to do, which isn't always an option. :) I am not going to complain though, both my boys are blessed to have them in their life. Grandpa is always up for a game of baseball, and by the way no one according to Ethan can pitch as good as grandpa can. Grandpa loves to garden with the boys and is teaching them so much. Ginny loves to take the boys on walks and cook with them, she does the BEST make believe and well is not only the best mom but best grandma. In conclusion both my boys LOVE their grandparents, which can make a night like tonight hard, they both wanted to go home with grandma. However it also makes my heart so full of joy knowing how much love they are getting! Thanks mom and dad, you are amazing!

I wish I could make it all better...

Today we took little Elijah to the allergist to get him tested for his problems with milk and other foods and yes my worst fears came true. He is HIGHLY allergic to milk, peanuts, and egg whites. I felt so bad for him as these huge lumps appeared on his back. He was such a trooper, all the nurses feel in love with him (what is not to love) and he was a perfect gentleman for the doctor. Therefore I will spend part of my day today making Eli friendly menus and cleaning out the cupboards of foods that I will need to donate to friends.

I don't think there is anything more painful then seeing your child in pain or covered in hives for that matter. However when I really think about it besides a few health problems I am blessed to have two beautiful boys who fill each day with so much joy! I pray Eli grows out of these issues but for now we will just plug along and be very careful with food.

It feels a lot like fall...

Last time I checked it was early September and temperatures were still supposed to be high or at least warm. Well, today while I was weeding, and planting my spring bulbs with the boys it seemed more like October. We were all out there with our jeans (broken out of winter storage) and our sweater shirts. It was a little windy so that compounded the chill in the air. No matter what the weather however I love being outside with the boys. Ethan loved to help me with the bulbs and ride his bike around. Eli well Eli is into everything, my tools, the bulbs, the weeds, he keeps me busy that is for sure but I love it he is always laughing and running around.

*I took these pictures of the boys in their fall outfits outside having fun in the dirt.

My Birthday Bash

On Friday August 29th we celebrate my birthday with a bash at my parents. It was just adults and Brock and Brittney cooked us a fabulous meal of carne asade, rice, guacamole, salsa and LOTS of margaritas. It was a night filled with friendship, great food and fun!

McCall, Idaho

On Sunday afternoon mom and I took Brock and Brittney on a little tour of just part of this beautiful state. We headed up To McCall, Idaho and Payette Lake. The drive there however was not what I would call fun. The roads are unbelievable windy and you look straight down on the river the entire way. Eli cried most of the way, as he was exhausted and well I felt sick to say the least...we even had to pull over once. After the harrowing trip we arrived in McCall and had a wonderful time. We filled our bellies with pizza that night as we enjoyed the views of the lake and mountains. The next morning we went for a swim and then set out for a day of jet skiing on the lake. It was gorgeous. Unfortunately it was a short trip as we had to head back that night. I drove, feeling much that time and Eli slept most of the way, giving us a much better driving experience on the way home. Overall is was a great trip, in one of the most picturesque places around.

Uncle Brock and Brittney Arrive in Idaho

Brock and his girlfriend Brittney arrived in Idaho on Saturday August 23. It was wonderful to have them here. We picked them up from the airport and headed straight to the river where we went rafting with Aunt Carla, Uncle Jim, Mom, Dad and Ethan. (Ben was nice enough to stay home with Eli.) The river was beautiful and we had a blast. Ethan didn't want to ride with anyone except his Uncle, especially after the first "rapid." That night we headed home to homemade spaghetti, wine and a movie, even though some of us didn't see it all, it was a tiring day.
